In an effort to strengthen the ties between our organization, the local
software community, and the University of Minnesota, I propose we sponsor
the Twin Cities Software Process Improvement Network (Twin-SPIN) for the
2004-05 year.

Twin-SPIN is a regional organization established in January of 1996 as a
forum for the free and open exchange of software process improvement
experiences and ideas. Representatives from industry, government, academia,
other professional organizations, and consultants participate. The
organization strives to serve as a source of educational and experiential
information for its members, other SPIN organizations, and the general
community of software professionals.

The sponsors of Twin-SPIN will be recognized on the Twin-SPIN website as
well as the opening of every meeting (taking place monthly). Sponsorships
vary from $100 to $2,000 and are used to cover the cost of inviting outside
speakers and meeting logistics. I suggest we provide a $Y,YYY sponsorship.
This gesture will be well received in the local community and help assure
that this valuable resource will be available to us in the future.
