Kim Johnson, PMP, NPDP is a Senior Certified Project Manager and New Product Development Professional. Kim began her career at 3M as a Human Factors Engineer. After being pulled into a Government Contract in the role of Project Scheduler for the Program Manager, she soon realized her passion for project management and teamwork and the ability to work with diverse individuals across functional disciplines. She was responsible for creating a Project Manager community of practice at 3M and then went on to serve leadership roles in both the Project Management Institute and the Product Development and Management Association at both the Global and Chapter level. Kim also worked at Medtronic where she learned the PM discipline required in the medical device arena. She created a Project Management community of practice there as well and was responsible for Medtronic becoming a Minnesota PMI Corporate Partner.

Kim is currently a Senior Project Manager at Johnstech where she embraces the Scanlon philosophy of People first, Process second and Tools/Technology last.  She has worked with organizations ranging from manufacturing to healthcare as well as government. She currently is the 2009 Chair for the Global PMI Consulting SIG and is the Project Manager responsible for Partnerships/Alliances for Minnesota PMI, as well as the Project Manager for the PMI-MN Breakfast Programs with a great project team to support her!  In addition she holds a Director at Large position for the Minnesota Chapter of the Product Development and Management Association.
