Architecture and Integration Summit
October 30, 2008
Location: Minneapolis, MN
The Architecture and Integration Summit hosted by the University of Minnesota and the Integration Consortium is coming soon. October 29th is a pre-conference tutorial day while October 30th is the main event with keynote presentations, track presentations, a panel debate on SOA versus REST, and a cocktail reception hosted by event sponsors – all at the McNamara Alumni Center.
While Roy Fielding may not have invented the World Wide Web, he is in fact one of its chief architects and is the opening keynote presenter on the topic “The Web as Integration Architecture”. Dr. Fielding is chief scientist at Day Software and is best known for his work in developing the WWW infrastructure, defining the REST architectural style, and pioneering open source software development. He is the primary architect of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), coauthor of the Internet standards for HTTP and Uniform Resource Identifiers (URI), a founder of several open-source software projects, and former chairman of the Apache Software Foundation.
Another major highlight is the afternoon keynote lead by Informatica with participation from Salesforce.com and Amazon.com on the topic “Cloud Computing & Cloud Integration”. Application Platform as a Service (APaaS) is a hot new architecture climbing the technology hype cycle. The presenters from Informatica, Salesforce and Amazon will provide a broad overview of cloud computing; what it is and what it means for business leaders, architects, and system integrators. They will discuss the challenges, such as data fragmentation and information security, and solutions that are available to address them. The keynote presentation will conclude with live cloud integration demo showing how salesforce.com can be integrated with Amazon Web Services using Informatica On-demand.
For further details on all the presentations visit the event website at <http://www.architectureandintegrationsummit.com/> and take advantage of the early registration discounts before September 30.
