Structured Software Test Planning (SSTP)

Missed deadlines.  Post-release defects.  Long hours and high stress levels.   All signs of an inefficient testing process that isn’t helping you achieve your quality goals.  This intensive two-day course, hosted and taught by one of BenchmarkQA’s practicing Quality Assurance professionals, will help you better manage your software testing processes.  You’ll learn how to develop a structured test strategy that identifies your needs, defines your process, organizes your efforts and maximizes your resources, giving you the tools and know-how to make a lasting impact on your QA and testing strategy.

During two fast-paced days of intensive learning, you will:

  • ·         Discover the value of a structured test plan,

  • ·         Be immersed in the best practices of QA industry experts,

  • ·         Gain the knowledge necessary to make a positive impact on your testing process. 

Through our training, you will:

  • ·         Discover the value of structured test planning.

  • ·         Expand your knowledge of the QA & test life cycle as a parallel to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • ·         Assess your business and technological risks and use this risk assessment to prioritize your testing.

  • ·         Learn the various test types and determine which ones to include in your plan to have the most effective and efficient test coverage.

  • ·         Learn how to use the SSTP method to estimate the test effort.

On the job, you will:

  • ·         Determine with confidence when to use various types of tests, detailed test cases, test checklists, and test scenarios.

  • ·         Create the key deliverables from the test planning phase – test strategy, test plan, and requirements traceability matrix.

  • ·         Adjust your existing processes and implement SSTP methods to better assess and manage your test effort, using metrics to demonstrate your success.

Who should attend:

SSTP is a management-level course for software professionals who manage or guide the quality assurance and testing effort.  Our topics and materials target QA managers and leaders, as well as forward-thinking test engineers and senior QA analysts.  IT professionals with any combination of formal and informal testing environments and methodologies, engaged in regulated and non-regulated industries, will find the content relevant and enlightening.

Cost:

$1295 per participant ($200 Early Bird Discount when you register by 2/1/2008)

Three or more people from the same company attending the same session qualify for the Group Discount; tuition is $995 per student.  All registrations must be made at the same time to qualify for the group discount.

Tuition: Tuition for each student is $1295 paid in advance of the class.  Tuition includes class sessions, all course materials, breakfast, lunch and refreshment breaks.  Tuition Payment:  Students will be invoiced at the time of registration, with payment due within 10 days.  Early Bird Discount:  All individual registrations received prior to February 1, 2008 will be billed at $1095 rather than $1295.  Group Discount: If you have three or more students attending the same session, tuition is $995 per student.  All registrations must be made at the same time to qualify for the group discount.  Early Bird Registration discount does not apply to group registrations.  Substitutions: Student substitutions are allowed at any time prior to the beginning of the class.  Cancellations: You may cancel your registration without penalty up to 10 days prior to the beginning of class.  Cancellations made within 9 days of the class start date will still requirement payment, however, funds can be attributed to another BenchmarkQA training course or service within one year.  BenchmarkQA reserves the right to cancel the class for any reason, with liability limited to the paid registration fee only.
